6. Vacuum flask- The plastic cap or cork stops convection and evaporation. -Shiny, silverd walls are poor radiators. Radiation is greatly reduced by reflection from the silvered surfaces. -The vacuum prevents heat movement by conduction and convection. -Glass is a poor conductor of heat. The glass walls reduce heat gain or heat loss through conduction. -The plastic support and the stopper also minimize the heat transfer by conduction through the glass wall of the flask.
